Fake Grass

When you ask people about artificial grass or fake grass you will realise there is a long standing history of it, however the birth of synthetic grass came when scientists were trying to invent a grass that would be suitable for children to play on no matter what the conditions were outside and from there artificial grass or fake grass was born.

The artificial grass that was produced originally was hard under foot and was really unsuitable for children and people to play sports on as it caused people to fall and injure themselves.  However, looking at the artificial grass it was particularly hard wearing and the surface that was originally laid lasted for over 20 years.

Some people claimed that in some cases its practicability was bad as it had poor drainage causing it to rot.  Also some argued that the artificial grass caused more injuries during sports games making people wanting to see it a thing of the past and not used in the future.  However the industry providers said if it was laid correctly in the first place that no problems would arise and that the artificial grass should have better drainage allowing sports to continue in wet seasons.

As years have gone by, artificial grass has improved immensely and now many are using artificial grass instead of asphalt surfaces.  Artificial grass has been known to be a shock absorber when sports are being played on it, reduce heat retention during the hot summer months and drainage problems now a thing of the past.  Fake grass has also been improved so much that on and off TV it looks real and does not look fake.

Fake grass is made from polyethylene-polyproplylene blend which is woven into a mat like base; it is also around 3cm thick from base to tip.  Maintenance requirements are low as it is recommended that once a month you brush it down to get rid of any debris.  Initial set up can be a little pricey however, in the long term you will save greatly on water costs.  Many people are not sold on the whole artificial grass idea as they like the smell of freshly cut grass, but they have now created a spray that smells exactly like it so you do not miss out.

Artificial grass comes in different styles so you can have that just cut look or a few weeks growth and it also comes it different shades to suit individuals taste.

Fake grass has advantages of being low maintenance, cheap to maintain and will give you a great look all year round.  Artificial grass is also great for those areas that have water restrictions.  Artificial grass requires no mowing, no fertilising, no watering, no trying to get dead patches to grow; this is why many sporting places are switching to the new and improved artificial grass.

Many western countries are taking a while to get their heads around using artificial grass but many Asian countries have been using it for years as they are resource tight and have no other choice.  Artificial grass is extremely environmentally friendly, so by using it you are reducing your footprint on earth.  Artificial grass can be laid immediately giving you beautiful green grass in a matter of hours and other bonus is that if you want to remove it this can be done easily too.
